The Z 24-70mm F2.8 S sits above the Z 24-70mm F4 in Nikon's new mirrorless lineup, and offers a native mirrorless alternative to the company's AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm F2.8 for its DSLRs. Promising to be smaller, lighter, and sharper than its forebears, the new lens has been keenly awaited by professional and enthusiast Nikon photographers. I happen to also have the very fine 24-70mm/f4 S kit lens. That is the one I use for landscape and travel, mainly because it is much lighter. Here is another example for comparison: an F-mount 24-70mm/f2.8 E AF-S VR on a Nikon D750, also at 24mm, f2.8. It is 6pm now so that the lighting is different.
