P1693 is simply a companion code. If you cycle your key three times, it won't necessarily give you the real code that the PCM or ECM is picking up. In my case, I went to Auto Zone and had them hook up their Actron scanner to get the real code (Auto Zone scans for free, for those who don't know). My code came up P0121, APPS/TPS fault code.
