sashapave. Posted September 4, 2009. If you ask 10 people here about oil you'll get 10 different (but equally as valid) answers. I personally like Motorex and believe it's a good product. I usually change the oil after each full day of riding, every 2nd change I do the filters. Just remember to fill the filter cavities with oil 1/2 way after
Boa strap wrench. Torque wrench adapter. Angle torque wrench. Tapered feeler gauges. Crocus cloth. Tusk bearing puller. The last tool I used is a homemade DIY cam bridge holder. This is needed IF you need to time your cams. The KTM PN is 77329050000 and cost about $100, so it’s worth trying to make this part yourself.
All you have to do is search KTM530 and the RC4 oil migration problem will pop up right along with everything else. You obviously know the causes so you did some research. The question is do you actually have an 09 motor, makes a bike difference in the possible causes of your problem.
Oil everywhere around your front sprocket? DO THIS FIRST.Dirt Tricks KTM 500 EXC Dome Washer:
The 450,505 SX, XC-F: 1.35 liters, always change the filter, remove and clean the screens. The 250 SX, XC-F, XC-FW: 1.1 liters, always change the filter, remove and clean. KTM now says to check oil level when warm, I still check to see if the oil crests the bottom of the window before start-up.

I have a KTM 450 EXC 2004 model. all has been good except a hopefully minor issue. i noticed drips of oil on the concrete in the shed then had a look and also noticed a little bit of oil around the drain bolt washer and a little spread of it on the engine case just slightly below
The 450 is the one that's most likely to have been used as an actual enduro bike, competitively, so bear that in mind. It's the raciest and most brutal of the range. The 400 is an all-rounder. The later non-RFS 500 and 350 are the powerful lugger and nimble handler respectively.
