You'll be overpaying if you pay anything close to $6k for a 1996 vintage 1200. I like Sportsters, all years, but the 2004 model is a vastly superior product. If you can get a GREAT deal on an earlier model fine. If not, hold out for used 2004, or new 2005 in a couple months. The used 2004's will start appearing soon.
2 posts · Joined 2021. #1 · May 29, 2021. ive been having an issue with my 2016 sportster 1200 . The best way to describe it is that the engine get a sudden power loss. Its like it hesitates. I was told to change the o2 sensors, but the problem continued. I checked the codes and this is what showed up.
